Questions

  • Pray and invite God into this time with Him.

  • Read Isaiah 45:3

  • Do you play the “what if” game? How can you start moving from the “what if” game to the “what is” game? Focus on what’s in front of you and what’s true rather than what might happen.

  • Katherine is able to find joy in her life despite the hard things she’s gone through. How does that inspire you & encourage you to find the joy in things rather than focusing on the pain?

  • Read Isaiah 43:19.

  • God used Katherine’s deepest wound to bring healing to others in the world. It’s hard to find the positive in our hardest moments, but how does this motivate you to start changing your mindset during your hardest moments?

  • Read James 1:4.

  • The things we go through don’t just affect us, they affect the people around us, but not always negatively. Think about some hard things you’ve gone through or watched others go through. How did it affect you? Did it help you grow?

  • Read Isaiah 45:3 again.

  • Think back on hard things you’ve gone through. Talk about the ways you now see how God moved in that.

Spiritual Practice
Prayer: Spend time in prayer with God. Ask God to help you stay present in the moments He has created for you rather than worrying about “what if”. Thank Him for the joy you can find in life even when going through hard things. Ask Him to help you see how your hard things can actually be used to help others.
