Who we are.

Embrace is one church, made up of multiple campuses and network churches. We exist to relentlessly reach the next person for Jesus. We do that through our four values: Encounter, Compassion, Embrace, and Run. No matter who you are, you belong here.

Our Vision
Our Beliefs

Our Story.

  • On September 4th, 2006, a group of 32 people got together for a worship service. Sioux Falls, South Dakota had many churches, but there was a growing interest for a new kind of church as the city grew. Adam Weber was going into his final year of seminary and reluctantly agreed to help with this gathering once a month. After that first service in September, we had no clue what the future held (or what we were doing!), but we sensed God asking us to follow Him.

That group would end up becoming what is now Embrace Church. Shortly after those 32 people met, small groups started meeting in homes around town and we gathered for worship once a month, seeing new faces each time. Our vision from the very beginning: to relentlessly reach the next person for Jesus.

  • In 2011, we moved into what is now the 57th Street Campus. We knew the next step for our community was starting an additional location. The Tea Campus was launched in 2014, and two years later, our 9-year-old Westside Campus found it’s permanent home near I-29 in May 2024. Our four physical campuses are joined by an online campus, two God Behind Bars prison ministries–one inside Mike Durfee State Prison and one at the Jameson Annex within the South Dakota State Penitentiary–and seven network churches.

  • Our heart is to relentlessly reach the next person for Jesus. We do that by encountering God, reaching people with compassion, being embraced by God, and then running to those around us. The Sioux Falls area is one of the fastest growing cities in America. By 2031, we hope to reach 5% of Sioux Falls and the surrounding area for Jesus. That 5% would be 12,500 souls for Jesus. We don’t know all of what this will look like, but we do know that we’re committed to what God has placed in front of us and to doing everything we can to relentlessly reach the next person for Jesus.

Embrace

Church

Our name.

Luke 15:20 says, “So he set off and went to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran, embraced him, and kissed him.”

The Father embraced his son. Embrace, by definition, means to place one’s arms lovingly around another. Our hope in relentlessly reaching the next person for Jesus is to embrace the prodigal, to welcome you just as you are.
