Questions
Pray and invite God into this time with Him.
What worries do you have in your life right now? Is there anything that keeps you up at night or is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning?
Read Luke 10:38-42.
We all juggle lots of things, but sometimes we juggle unnecessary things. What’s a ball you’re currently juggling that you could set down? Maybe it’s spending too much time on your phone, maybe it’s a social media app you can delete.
Martha’s priorities were out of order in the story. Think about your priorities, do you have any that are out of order?
There’s a difference between caring for people well & trying to impress them. Where do you find yourself falling most of the time? Why do you think we try to impress others?
Jesus addresses Martha anxiety right away. What’s your anxiety? Address and confront like Jesus did with Martha.
We can’t choose whether we feel worry or anxiety, but we can choose not to dwell on it. How can you start choosing differently? What’s a practical way you can stop dwelling on the worry?
Read Psalm 37:4.
Spiritual Practice
Prayer: Spend time in prayer with God. Ask Him to help calm your worries & anxieties. Ask for His help in naming your anxiety and to stop dwelling on it. Thank Him for giving you the mental strength to stop worrying.
