Questions

  • Pray and invite God into this time with Him.

  • Read Romans 7:15, 20.

  • Do you have areas in your life where you struggle to do the good thing? Something in your life you just can’t seem to control?

  • The battle between good & evil inside you is a good thing, it means God is at work in you. How does that encourage you in your walk with Him?

  • We’re human, we sin & fall short every day. Acknowledge the truth of our sin is one step in winning the battle against evil. What’s one sin or area in your life you need to be honest about?

  • Are you someone who denies or delays? If someone pointed out a sin or area in your life you struggle, would you deny it? Would you say “yeah, I need to work on that” but then keep pushing it off? Why do you think you fall back on denial & delaying?

  • Throughout Romans 7, Paul continually uses the pronoun “I”, never placing the blame on someone else. In your life, are you quick to blame others or do you take on the blame? How can you stop letting the difficult things you’ve gone through define your life and your choices?

  • Read Romans 7:24-25 & 8:1-2.

  • The power to overcome sin is through Jesus, not ourselves. How can you start relying on Him to help you win the battle against sin?

  • Read Ephesians 4:21, 28-31.

  • Belief is only the first step. We have to believe & then take action! What steps can you take to stop the cycle of sin in your life?
