Recipe For A Wonder-filled Christmas: Week 1

Questions

  • Pray and invite God into this time with Him.

  • Do you agree or disagree with the statement that Christmas has lost its wonder? Why or why not?

  • Read Matthew 2:1-11. What did the wise men do in response to the birth of Jesus?

  • They responded to their joy with generosity. They gave to Jesus. How would your life be different if you always responded to joy with generosity?

  • The first ingredient to being generous is to take your eyes off yourself. When was a time you were generous, but not for the right reasons? When was a time you took your eyes off yourself in order to show generosity? How were those two situations different?

  • The next ingredient is to find a muscle you didn’t know you had. Do you remember the first time you were generous with your time, money, or resources? What was it like?

  • The third ingredient in being generous is no strings attached. Have you ever given, with no expectation to get anything in return?

  • The last ingredient is to just start. Do something to be generous this week, expecting nothing in return. Pray and ask God for opportunities to show generosity.
