167: Week 2

Questions

  • What stood out to you from the message?

  • After having a few weeks of hearing this concept of 167, what do you think it looks like to make God part of the rest of your week?

  • Read Romans 12:3. Describe what Paul is saying here. Come up with a few examples of what he’s talking about.

  • In your own words, what is humility?

  • People will come to understand what it’s like to be on the other side of Jesus through us. When you think about the interactions you have with others, what do they learn about Jesus?

Spiritual Practice

Response: Grow in your self-awareness. Being self-aware is not about being perfect. Instead, it’s about owning your imperfections. Ask yourself the question, what is it like to be on the other side of me? What are some ways we can look to Jesus as an example for humility? Journal anything that comes to mind. Jesus is a non-anxious presence that we can look to as an example. Ask God to help you become more like Jesus in this area.

Action: This week, ask someone the question, “What’s it like to be on the other side of me?” Don’t ask your best friend or someone who will tell you what you want to hear, and don’t defend yourself. Ask the person you’re nervous to ask. Be honest with yourself and with this other person.
