That One Time Week 2
Questions
Pray and invite God into this time with Him.
All of us have something we regret or wish we could go back and change. Think about what your “that one time” is. Is there something you did in the past that, if given the chance, you would go back and undo or do differently?
Read Hebrews 8:12
God wants to be close to you and that’s why He tells us that if we confess our sins to Him, He will forgive us. Have you confessed your sins to God and asked for forgiveness? Have you told Him about your “that one time”?
When you think about your “that one time” moment, do you feel embarrassed? Most of us do. But God wants us to become a new person in Him. Embarrassment is the gap between who you were and who you want to be.
Read Galatians 2:20
Do you feel stuck in the past? Like you can’t ever move forward because you’re stuck reliving what you did? God doesn’t want us to stay in the past, He wants us to become new in Him and live with Christ in us.
Spiritual Practice
Reflection: Take a moment to sit in a quiet space and just breathe. If you’re clinging to your old self or can’t seem to shake the past off, take a deep breath and let it go. Let God forgive you and make you a new person in Christ.
Prayer: Spend time in prayer. If you haven’t yet, confess what you’ve done to God and ask for forgiveness. Ask God to make you new. If you still have wrongs to make right with the people who were affected by your “that one time”, pray for guidance and ask God to give you the right words to say to reconcile with those things.
