Luke 12:15 says, “Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.” What do you think Jesus means by this? What does it look like to “guard against every kind of greed”?
Do you find yourself searching for something to make you content?
Following Jesus doesn’t result in life being easy. Instead, it often results in life being really hard. Have you found this to be true in your own life?
Spiritual Practice
Gratitude: Practice gratitude everyday this week. Spend time in prayer specifically thanking God for things in your life. Make a list of five different things everyday.
Prayer: Be honest with God in prayer about where you’re finding your contentment. If it’s anything other than Jesus, bring that to him. Talk to God about what it would look like to find your contentment in Jesus.
