  • What do you know about the mindset of apathy?

  • Read Revelation 3:14-16. How would you summarize this verse?

  • Thinking about different areas (friends, family, work, faith, etc.) of your life, where are you lukewarm?

  • Do you ever feel the temptation to be apathetic in your spiritual life? How so?

  • The mindset of the world is apathy, but the mindset of Jesus is discipline. What disciplines, or simple habits or routines, can you put in your life to avoid a mindset of apathy? 

  • Habit stacking is where you add a habit to something you’re already doing. For example, you could start praying every time you brush your teeth. Thinking about these different areas of our lives, what are some ways you could use habit stacking to incorporate healthy disciplines into your life?

Reflection: Jesus had temptations toward spiritual apathy, but he remained committed by praying, by going to church, and by reading Scripture. What are ways you can avoid an apathetic mindset and be more intentional about following Jesus? Think of a few simple habits or disciplines you could build in this area.
